And here we are again, another year behind us and, fortunately, another one to look forward to. I'm not going to bore you with travel adventures since you can find them here: Australia, Romania Portugal & Hawaii
I would like to say that we had a very fast, efficient, on budget remodel project of our bedroom/ bathroom/guestroom, but I try not to lie in these letters. The end product turned out well but it very much resembled 9 months of pregnancy, both in time and increasing discomfort. Let's just say that we have made a pact for 2020 to be a remodel free year.
Now for a child update. Of course, we'll start with the newest family member, Ethan. As with most grandparents, we are completely besotted with him. He's walking and using sign language (something we didn't do when our boys were little). The other day, he 'talked' us into all sorts of food that I'm not sure he was supposed to have. I can just imagine how much trouble we'll get into once he can actually talk! Not accepted to Harvard yet (although we're working with a college counselor that says he can get him on the crew team), he's progressing as a 15 month old should.
Brandon and his girlfriend, Alex, have moved to Healdsburg, California. Brandon is working for Jackson Family Wineries using his techie background. He loves the job and the people he works with and especially loves the wine perks. Alex works at Single Thread, a three star Michelin restaurant very near their home. After a year of intense study, she is now an Advanced Sommelier, which is one step away from being a Master Somm. They were evacuated during the recent wildfires but avoided any property loss. We plan on visiting often to improve our wine tasting skills.
Jason and Alexa continue to advance in their jobs at Bank of Oklahoma and Williams. They are wonderfully laid back parents, something we never really mastered. We enjoy having them (and Ethan) close enough that we can see each other when we want and avoid each other the rest of the time.
I continue to work with the ever more complicated 'simplified' tax code while David has wrangled contractors most of the year (refer to paragraph 2 above). We continue to pursue our hobby of buying camera gear, and every so often use it to take some decent photos. We hope you had a goodish (because everything is an 'ish' these days) 2019 and wishing you an even better 2020.
Tammie & David
